UND WOMEN FEATURE Fighting Sioux Women Dominate Defending National Champions In Duluth! Progress has been building in the University of North Dakota womens hockey program for the past two seasons and perhaps their biggest step in the progression came Sunday in Duluth, Minn. when the Fighting Sioux shut out the defending national champions 4-0.

Freshman goaltender Stephanie Ney turned away 32 shots in earning her first collegiate shut out giving the Fighting Sioux their first ever victory in Duluth.
While Ney was holding the Bulldogs at bay, senior captain Melissa Jaques scored twice in the opening period and the Fighting Sioux never looked back.
Stephanie Roy and Randi Motsko scored in the second and third period respectively to make the final margin 4-0.
After a week off the Fighting Sioux will return to action the first weekend of December when they host WCHA leading Minnesota at Ralph Englestad Arena.
UND WOMEN NEWS / NOTES
The Fighting Sioux women returned to action after a week off, hosting top ranked Wisconsin in a weekend series at the Ralph Englestad Arena.
Junior goaltender Brittany Kirkham will be looking to become the all-time UND shut out leader when she records her next shut out, which will be her seventh.
Senior Melissa Jaques leads the Sioux in scoring with 16 points on six goals and 10 assists in 10 games.
